Dr. Veerman’s dream is to inspire Chicago to become a healthier society. At HLC Magazine, we work and communicate with local healthcare professionals to spread health advice. Our goal is to educate the Chicago public and its greater community about important and timely health topics. We also seek to ease the communication between healthcare professionals to present the most up-to-date research and technology to improve life in Chicago.

Dr. Michael Veerman

Doctor Michael Veerman Healthy Living ChicagoDr. Michael Veerman is an Illinois board certified chiropractor.  Dr. Veerman is the official chiropractor of the UIC Flames.  He is a graduate of University of Illinois at Chicago and enjoys dedicating his time to educate athletes to improve performance. Dr. Veerman graduated from National University of Health sciences in Lombard, Ill and grew up in New Lenox, Ill.  As a native of the Chicago area, he has a true passion to improve the overall well-being of Chicago.  Dr. Veerman is involved in the River North Business Association, BNI (Business Network International), SBAC (Small Business Advocacy Council), and several other groups.  His goal is to improve the lives of every one in Chicago one post at a time. He founded MVP Chiropractic in 2010, which now has locations in New Lenox, Ill, the Chicago Loop and River North.

 Emily Brown

emily3Emily Brown is the lead editor and social media manager of Healthy Living Chicago. She graduated from Loyola University Chicago in December 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Over the course of her college career, Brown interned at Comcast SportsNet Chicago, 22nd Century Media (newspaper chain in the Chicago suburbs), WGN-TV Sports and RedEye Chicago, where she still freelances. She works at NCSA Athletic Recruiting in Chicago, helping high school student-athletes accomplish their dreams of playing sports in college.
